Nevie's First Ranger Game!

We took Nevie to her first Ranger baseball game today. I think Chad bought these tickets right after we were matched with our birth mom he was so excited. We had amazing seats on the 2nd row along the 3rd base line. During the first inning, the Umpire gave Nevie a game ball! She's not even 2 months old and she already has an official pro baseball from her first pro game - how many kids can say that?! So cool! It was an awesome day!

Chad is already teaching Nevie all about baseball and I think we have many more ball games in our future. :)

Nevie's First Trip to the Lake

We spent a wonderful weekend in a cabin on Lake Whitney. Our new family of 5 celebrated my b-day there along with a surprise appearance from one of my closest friends and her hubby. We hiked (and I use that term loosely) down to the lake. Nevie was not really a fan of the baby bjorn. We were hoping she would love it b/c it's a nifty little contraption once it's on (it's the most complicated thing ever to actually put on btw). Maddie and Nana had a blast sniffing around and running free. Weather was great! We enjoyed good food courtesy of my hubby who is a grilling fool. :) It was the best birthday weekend ever!

Houston Sip and See

This past Saturday, Chad's mom, Ros, along with his best friend's mom, Sue, and wife, Kim, threw us a Sip and See in Houston. Once again, we were blessed with a great turn out of family and friends who came to meet little Nevie. We enjoyed the food and company! We loved seeing everyone and catching up. It was a wonderful time!

5 Straight Hours of Sleep!

Twice now (not back to back), Nevie has slept for 5 straight hours at night. I have never loved her more than the morning after. ha! Unfortunately, she reverted back to her old habits. She is getting better though.

Nevie is 1 month old and growing!

Sip and See

My sister Norma and cousin Judy threw a Sip and See for little Nevie yesterday. Everything turned out perfect! Judy did all the cooking and the food tasted great. Norma did the baking and her cupcakes were delicious. We were blessed with many friends and family who came to meet Nevie. It was a wonderful evening!

2 lbs in 2 weeks!!!

Took Nevie to her 1 month check-up on Friday and she gained 2 lbs in 2 weeks!! Doc was like whoa! He said he was pleasantly surprised. He likes newborns to gain an ounce a day and well she exceeded that to say the least. What can I say? She likes to eat! He told me to let her sleep as long as she wants between feedings - no need to wake her anymore b/c she's getting plenty. ha! Her repeat newborn screening results were all normal and her repeat hearing test showed that she hears perfect. She is happy and healthy. Praise God!
