Memorial Day Weekend

Chad completed his CLE this year in San Antonio and the family got to come along for the ride. Although we were hit with a lot of rain, it didn't stop our fun. This was the weekend of the mass flooding in central and south Texas. As we reflect upon our good memories made on this trip, we remember that many were not as fortunate. Some lost homes and others lost loved ones. We pray for those suffering and those still missing.

Her faces....OMG.

The lazy river was cold, but didn't stop this girl and her sister. #mommawasfrozen

Taking a break because our lips were turning blue.

Hand painting.

Had a nap and ready to swim again.

Plie. Saute. Tap away.

Nevie gave a fab performance last night at her ballet/tap recital. She and her little classmates were all so cute. One kid lost a tap shoe midway through the number and we thought for a split second Nev was going to retrieve it ( because that's the kind of helpful child she is). However, both girls stayed focused and continued on like the true dancers they are.

They tapped to "Smile Big". Nev sang along too.

So lovey. So proud.

Her ballet number was to "Isn't She Lovely". Fitting (in my opinion).

M clapped for her big sis and gave her a huge hug. Sweetness.

Who Lives In Your Heart?

Let's be honest ... most days, we are just trying to survive. Hoping and praying for no broken bones (Mila), that we manage to make it to work wearing stain free outfits that actually coordinate, that everyone remains healthy thoughout the day, that we didn't forget anything we desperately need like the kids' lunch or our work laptops, and that we all make it home happy and safe. Every once in a while (like today), we get confirmation that we are doing something right. We may not do everything right, but if we can just do the important things right by our kids, I call that a win in this game we like to call "the survival of parenthood".

On the way home from school, Nev and I had the following conversation:

Nevie: Mom, I spoke to you in my heart today, did you hear me?
Me: I sure did, Nev....I felt you in my heart talking to me.
Nevie: I knew you did. I told my friends that you are in my heart. My friends asked, isn't God in your heart? I told them, my mom, and God, and my dad, Mila and Jesus, live in my heart.
Me: Tears....thankful we found TLCC and the wonderful teachers/director that has helped us shape our sweet kiddos.

Crazy. Busy. Fun. Weekend.

Whew! We survived a super fun, but very busy weekend. It consisted of a celebration dinner, two birthday parties, Lady Antebellum concert, Mayfest, and a Cinco de Mayo party. It was a lot, but we enjoyed every bit of it!
