Our Cutie Patootie!

I like to wear Daddy's beanies.

And, I have my own, but mine are cuter.

What? Really?

I'm balancing ... I'm balancing .... trying not to do a nose dive.

Why are you making me wear this enormous bow? Does it make my head look big?

Fashionista!

Happy New Year!!

We rung in the new year with our sweet Nevie. Chad made us an early reservation so as not to interfere with our bedtime routine and so we'd be happy and not fussy. We dressed her up in her little black dress because every girl has at least one of those just for these occasions, and we headed out to make our 6p reservation at Lamberts. It  tuned out to be a 2 hour dinner. I had steak, Chad had the steak and shrimp special, and Nevie had formula. Nevie was mesmerized by all the people and flare. She was so cute and good. By the time we got home, Nevie was practically asleep. We tucked her into bed and watched all the New Year's Eve bashes on T.V. with our good friend and one of Nevie's Godparents, Brian. At midnight, we kissed each other and little Nevie (careful not to wake her of course) and talked to family wishing everyone a Happy New Year! It was the perfect way to ring in 2011. Hope you all have already had a great start to this year.

Who knew baby food could be so entertaining?!

So trying out different baby foods has been quite the adventure and quite entertaining for us. We have moved on from rice cereal to veggies. Nevie has tried out carrots, sweet potatoes and squash. She loves her sweet potatoes and squash. The jury is still out on carrots. Next week we are going to embark on the green stuff...peas, green beans and the like. We'll see how that goes.

Gimme more of those sweet potatoes.

Yuk carrots!

Not another bite of carrots, PLEASE.

Rice with a little bit of applesauce tastes good.

Don't take my bowl. I told you it was good.

What is this squash stuff you speak about?

Turns out, I REALLY like squash!

What's on the menu for today?

I'm waiting.....

Not sure whether more food lands in my mouth or on me.

Thank God for bibs!

Cereal mustaches are cool.

Is there more?

Christmas Outfits

We couldn't resist these super cute hats and outfits. She was a real trooper letting us dress her in them and take pictures. We think she likes the camera. :)

Sweet little santa.

Her face kinda contradicts her shirt, but in her defense this was about the 50th picture we'd taken.

The pom pom turned out to be sort of tasty.

Best Gift Ever!

Nevie's First Christmas!

Christmas at our house was fabulous! We were so blessed this year to have Nevie in our lives. She looked so cute in her red Christmas dress. The whole family came to our house to celebrate. We all hung out and snacked until it was time to go to midnight Mass. Mass was beautiful and we felt such a sense of happiness and peace holding Nevie in our arms while singing the hymns and Christmas carols. Nevie slept through most of it. :) After church, we all came back to our house for delicious appetizers and sweets. We opened gifts from one another, laughed and had a great time. On Christmas day we went over to my sister's house for our traditional Christmas lunch. That evening we had a wonderful chat with Nevie's birth mom over skype. It was the first time we used skype and so the first time we had seen Nevie's birth mom and vice versa since Nev was a month old. It was really great to see her and her family and we think she was really happy to see Nev, which in turn made us happy. That night, we stood back and marveled at the blessings God has bestowed upon us. We are forever grateful.

5 Months Old

Okay, so it's been a while since I've had a chance to update our blog. You know the story ... the holidays, work, baby, so little time so much to do. So really Nev is 5 1/2 months old (maybe 5 3/4) now. She's growing, rolling and sitting. She can even hold her bottle by herself. Of course, she doesn't quite get what to do when the formula gets low, but she'll figure out how to tip the bottle up soon enough. For now, that's what Mama and Daddy are for. :) She's longer than Funzie, her penguin pal now although you can't really tell from the last 2 pictures b/c she curled up her legs.
