Another chunk of time has passed since my last post, but I have a good excuse. I have been a little consumed....we all have....with a sweet baby girl that we call "Mila". I'm still not sure how this happened or how we got so lucky or what we did to deserve this amazing blessing. The crazy thing is she was a complete surprise!
The super short version of this amazing story is that someone we met three years ago remembered us and still had our contact information. We got a phone call on the day this beautiful baby girl was born and were asked if we wanted to adopt her. Talk about God's plan. Of course our answer was yes. The unfortunate thing was she was six hours away so by the time we talked to the social worker, etc. etc. we had to wait until the following day to meet her, but the moment she was placed in our arms we all were in love. We didn't know we had enough room in our hearts to love another child as much as we love Nevie, but we did. Now we have two of the most amazing children in the world. Mila is so sweet and is quick to brighten your day with her huge gummy smile. And, Nev, well Nev as you all know by now is a charismatic toddler with an adorable personality and lots of love to share. God is great and He must love us for sure.
We named her Milan Maris. Nevie affectionately calls her "Miler-Milers" and is the sweetest big sister. Mila lucked out in that regard. This little bundle of joy was born on October 4, 2013 at 8:32a weighing in at 4 lbs 13 oz and measuring 17 inches long. Needless to say, we are overjoyed!!

| Finally going home! We were lucky to be able to stay in the hospital with Mila. The unlucky part was we were there for 5 days. She would gain an ounce, then lose it, then lose more weight. You wouldn't guess that if you saw her now. :) BTW, she hates the car seat. |
