Dog Days of Summer

It's been over 100 degrees in Ft.Worth for 28 or so days in a row. It's so hot, but we make the best of it hanging out in the backyard.

I can stand!

Wheeee!

 Got milk (or formula)?

I'd rather have some of your smoothie, but my bottle will do.

Parker County Peach Festival

We went to the 27th Annual Parker County Peach Festival today and had such a great time. We tried peach tea, peach cobbler, a peach smoothie, and peach salsa. I think we are peached out! :) Nevie tried brisket for the first time and loved it. She was a little uncertain about the peach smoothie but kept wanting more b/c it was cold. There were so many vendors with the cutest stuff. Of course, I had to buy Nevie some adorable things. Daddy bought this great mister thing that kept us cool. That was the best purchase of the year!! Nevie was so tuckered out she fell asleep on the way home. After we got home, we filled up the baby pool to cool her off and gave her a bath. I love days like this. I am just the luckiest person alive!!

I'm liking this brisket stuff.

 What?

 I'm not done.

Hummm....what peach flavored thing am I gonna try next??

So tired after a fun day.

I'm just resting my head for a minute.

Turns out the pool can double as a bath tub.

Bathing al fresco ... greatness!

Really, can we go in...I'm ready for another nap.

4th of July Weekend

Nevie had an eventful 4th of July weekend. Her grandparents came into town from Houston on Saturday. Sunday, we all went to the horse races at Lonestar Park. They do a nice family friendly thing every year for the 4th with face painting, a petting zoo, bounce houses and a fireworks display at the end. There was a big group of us that went including, both sets of grandparents, my two sisters and their families and my brother-n-law’s sister and her family. We packed a picnic, loaded up Nevie's wagon, and brought a shade thing to set up, chairs, and anything we could think of that would keep us cool. Nevie had so much fun playing with everyone. It was hot but she was a champ. Poor thing was so worn out that she fell asleep half way through the fireworks show and didn’t wake until we were loading her up in her car seat. Man, that child can sleep through anything. Monday, we had a low key day playing in the baby pool and snacking on good ol' American 4th of July favorites that Daddy grilled out in the heat for us: hot dogs, hamburgers, fruit salad, etc. Nevie had her first all beef hot dog. She loved it. :)

 Let's color.

 Whatcha got in there?

Umm, watermelon .... I want it.

My little Nevie-Nev.

Another picture?? Can't I just sit here and chill in my wagon in peace.

This squishy toy is so funny.

 My cupcake tastes good!

Hanging in the wagon with Cousin Emery.

Hi!

Sweet kisses for Mama!

It's more fun to eat my bright toy than it is to look at it.

It was too hot for my dress, as patriotic as it was. I feel so much better now!

 Watching fireworks.

Emery is fascinated by the fireworks.

I guess the fireworks show was not that exciting to Nevie, or she was just that tired.

Tuckered out.
Again, Nev is more interested in eating her toys. :)

 Yay!

Eeekkk....Silly Daddy pouring water on me.

Attack of the Nevster!!

It's not time to get out now, is it?

I'm Almost One!!!

OMG! Nevie turned 11 months old this past Saturday! We can't believe it. She is going to be one next month. Where has the time gone?? It makes me want to cry. :) She crawls around like crazy, pulls herself up on her knees, is working on standing, eats all kinds of new foods and pretty much whatever she picks up (she’s sneaky – we have to keep a close eye on her), drinks out of a transitional bottle, talks a bit, makes the cutest faces and just within the last week started shaking her head “no”. Lord help us now. :) We are busy planning her 1st birthday party. It will be so much fun!

Here she is with Funzy, her penguin pal. This will be one of the last posts with him pictured next to Nevie to show how much she’s grown. Boo-hoo (that’s Mama shedding some tears – ha)!

What do you mean I'm gonna be one Funzy?!

Get outta here....that's not true, is it??

Gimme a kiss!
I don't like wearing bows.

My Mexican Dress

This was a sweet gift from one of my best friends. She brought this dress back from Cozumel for Nevie and Nevie looked so adorable in it that I had to post her picture.
